My Spare has Two Lug Patterns. Which one do I use?

If your spare has a total of ten lug holes, rest assured that you can only mount the spare using the lug pattern that fits your vehicle.

Some Modern Spare wheels will have two distinct lug patterns. This will be indicated by the wheel having ten lug holes in total. Rest assured your wheel is designed that prevents mounting the wheel on the incorrect lug pattern. You will be able to use only the lug pattern that fits the car.

This is particularly obvious with vehicles that use lug nuts and have studs coming off the wheel hub.

For vehicles that use lug bolts, it can be a challenge to ensure the lug holes are lined up correctly when placing the wheel on the hub of the car. When doing this, simply rotate the wheel until you see the 5 lug holes line up with the threaded bolt holes in the car’s hub. You will notice that one set of lug holes will align just right, allowing you to begin threading in the lug bolts.

If your spare has only 5 or possibly 6 lug holes, your wheel only has a single lug pattern.
