For 5th Generation Camaro Models (2010-2015), we have designed the spare tire to be stored in the existing storage "well" under the trunk floor. Read further for details on this and options for 6th Generation models (2016-2024)
The 5th Generation Camaro models include a spare tire storage compartment located beneath the trunk floor. Your Modern Spare can fit there, and if you order the Complete Kit Without The Carrying Case (you won't need the carrying case), your kit will include the necessary hardware to secure the spare in place.
Please note: Due to critical design features of the Modern Spare wheel for your Camaro, your trunk floor may be slightly elevated when the spare is secured in this storage area. Typically, this is less than half an inch and does not impact the available storage in the main trunk compartment.
For 6th Generation Camaro Models (2016-2024)
General Motors modified the unibody design, rendering the existing storage beneath the trunk floor inadequate for a spare tire. In this scenario, placing the spare in the main trunk area is best. For this purpose, we recommend selecting the complete kit with the carrying case.
Modern Spare has thoughtfully designed our carrying or storage case with this consideration in mind. By keeping our spare tires narrow and compact, you can store the spare in the main trunk area without sacrificing valuable storage space.
The storage case is crafted from rugged, reinforced, and padded nylon, ensuring that the entire kit (jack, tools, wheel, and tire combo) is neatly secured while maintaining a low profile of just 6 inches high when laid flat.
For 6th Generation Convertible Models-
The trunk space is relatively small, allowing room for the top to retract into part of the trunk area. The spare can still fit in the trunk while accommodating the lowering of the roof. To do this, begin by placing the convertible top in the down position. Next, detach the divider that conceals the retracted roof. You will notice that there is space remaining under the convertible top where the spare tire kit can be stored without interfering with the roof system.
