Part of a tire's DOT rating includes a number followed by a letter, such as 99M or 112M. This number indicates the tire's load capacity, while the letter that follows represents the speed rating. Generally, Modern Spare will always select a tire with a load capacity exceeding what that spare will support during regular use, specifically catering to the car model it is designed for.
